Lackawanna - I Wanna!

So, as I was reading my profile, I had to smile... it mentions dreaming of teaching in a college classroom one day.  Well, my dream has come true!

 In the late summer of 2013, I was appointed as a full time instructor in the business division at Lackawanna College.  Yay me!

 From the moment I met with the panel for my first interview, I felt at home.  The more I read about the school to prepare for my second interview, the more I fell in love.  Once I met with the college president and executive VP, I felt committed for life.

 Lackawanna College reminds me of Juniata so much; and I had the same kinds of feelings as when I visited there as a prospective student so many moons ago.  Words are very difficult to find to accurately explain how happy I have been since taking this job.  My enthusiasm for what I do bleeds through my explanations when I try to tell people how much I love what I do, the college, the people, the students...

 In addition to having found my dream job, for me, it allows me so much more time at home with Ethan.  What perfect balance for a happy family!  I plan to start trying to post more blogs here to document some experiences as a college 'professor'.  

 I'm grateful.  Eternally grateful that someone at LC saw something in me to make me a part of their family.

Baby's First Christmas 2009

On December 22nd, Ethan turned 7 months old (yep, time flies!). On December 25th, he celebrated his first Christmas, and boy was it special, awesome, and wonderful! I was filled with pride and joy as I watched Ethan explore every gift he was given. The amazement in his eyes and the happiness in his smile filled my heart over and over all day. Birthday Reflections

40 years ago, on December 31st 1978, I became the luckiest little girl in the world.  I was born into a family whose love and support would only continue to grow over the years. I knew immediately that I was wanted - and had been the hopes and dreams of my parents for almost five years. When I was born on my actual due date, I feel like the whole world accepted the reality that was to be. Alicia Nichole Noerr, fierce, dedicated, determined to prove so many things to so many people. Daily Thank-You's

A few months ago, Mike arrived home from the Benco National Sales Convention with a new motivation.  The guest speaker he'd listened to had presented some pretty neat concepts that struck something inside Michael's heart.  I'm so grateful because we've instituted a few of those suggestions at home, and I like them... a lot! Forgive me, but I can't remember the speaker's name.  However, one of his observations was regarding the amount of television we watch as a nation.  It's INSANE.  He decided to cut back 'x' hours a week and use that time to do more productive, self-enhancing things.  We have made a sincere effort to limit all of our screen time since then.  Now, of course there are days that we allow more time in front of the boob-tube because we are tired or frustrated.  But, in general, I am very proud of our family's efforts to watch less T.V.
